Overview
Further Mathematics A Level is an additional qualification designed for the most able and passionate mathematicians. The course content is challenging, offering students the opportunity to explore new and complex mathematical concepts. It helps further develop problem-solving and analytical skills, which are highly valued by employers, and provides an advantage when applying to elite universities for maths- and science-based degrees.
It is important to note that Further Mathematics A Level should only be taken if you are considering a degree in a mathematical discipline. Courses such as medicine or dentistry do not require Further Mathematics for entry, and taking it does not enhance your application. For students pursuing a career in medicine or dentistry, it is therefore not recommended to take Further Mathematics.
