Overview

The inspirational geographer Danny Dorling notes that ‘geography is the academic subject of a kinder future to come’, so at Mercia School we inspire our pupils to become the next great decision makers for a better Planet Earth.

The OCR Specification B Geography course is for enquiring minds. Pupils must be effective in using their abilities to analyse a range of figures, including graphs, maps and text. They must also engage with enthusiasm with fieldwork opportunities. Importantly, geographers are then required to use detailed knowledge and understanding of geographical processes to write in depth about the geographical events and issues they explore. Developing this combination of abilities makes geography a challenging and rewarding academic pursuit.
