How To Apply

Applying to Mercia Collegiate Sixth Form

Entry to Mercia Collegiate Sixth Form is competitive and designed to identify scholars with both strong academic potential and the determination to succeed. Applicants are expected to achieve at least a GCSE Grade 7 in their chosen A Level subjects, alongside completing entrance assessments and an interview with subject specialists.

The process is rigorous but supportive, allowing pupils to demonstrate their knowledge, commitment and ambition. Successful applicants join a community of like-minded scholars who share high expectations and a strong work ethic.

A carefully structured transition programme ensures all scholars are fully prepared to begin their studies. This includes induction activities, opportunities to experience sixth form life and a clear introduction to the expectations and culture of the community.

Entry requirements

The minimum qualification for entry into Mercia Collegiate Sixth Form is:

  • A grade 7 or higher in each of the subjects intended to be studied at A level
  • A grade point average of 7.0 across all GCSEs studied (minimum of 8 subjects)
  • A minimum of grade 5 in English Language and Mathematics, regardless of the subjects studied at A Level
